Felix (The Catt) Hanson was born into music. When he was just a toddler, his afternoons were spent running around his father's band practice. At that time, Felix's dad Jimmy Hawkins (an extraordinary guitar player) was in a group that included Steve Gaines(who later joined Lynyrd Skynrd) and Marcy Levy (backup singer for Eric Clapton and co-writer with him on Lay Down Sally). Felix was soaking it all in.

The family then moved to Jamaica, and at the age of 4, Felix was already showing his excellent rythym on the bongo drums. He grew up in Jamaica sining with the local Jamaican youths, and spent time with Toots Hibbert increasing his vocal abilities.

In a household alive with the musical goings on of his father and his bandmates, Felix received a full tonal transfusion. As a teenager, he was making musical strides of his own, taking up the bass guitar and drums, strumming on a flat top, and experimenting on the keyboards. He spent alot of time in the home recording studio single handedly overdubbing all the instrumental as well as vocal tracks for his original reggae songs.

At the age of 15, Felix started playing bass guitar professionally with his father's band, Jimmy Hawkins and the Cyclones, in the Florida Keys, where they became the favorite local band with their eclectic mix of rock, reggae and blues.

In 2000, Felix left his dad's band and ventured out to California. He baegan working on an LP with his Baga Tricks band, and playing extensivly throughout the San Diego area, then touring up and down the east and west coasts, performing with such acts as Eek-A-Mouse, Toots and the Maytals, The Toasters, Gregory Issacs, and Big Mountain.

While the band has undergone member changes, Felix remains the constant as the lead singer and songwriter. Felix The Catt with his skilled bass playing and equally outstanding vocal technique may very well "break the mold: of today's common place front man.
